Wow is right, this REALLY is an amazing page and a great memory to scrap! Your dad would be so proud!!! Love the movie trailer, the pic's the ticket and the desingn work is just awesome!!!
If I could click FAV several times on this, I'd click 100 times over! First my all time fav scrapping page has a military photo on it. Your embossing on this is envy-able. The texture and your inking and the way you removed pieces of the paper in that green one under the admit ticket is genius. The photos are fabulous. The little bit of yellow textrue inking is also brilliant for a pop of color.
OMGOSH! This is such an amazing story about your dad and that movie and the helmets!!! wow!!! Awesome page, Vickie!!! You've definitely designed a war theme perfectly!!

That is so cool, Vickie!!!! I mean COOL!!!!!!! Your dad painted all of the helmets for the movie!!!!! I love this layout so much! Your techniques really add to the artistic quality of your amazing page! I love it and I bet your family will, too!
My father was an automotive paint salesman but his hobby and true love and passion was restoring old military vehicles. "A Hollywood Company hired my father to paint over 1000 helmets to be worn by the actors and extras in the 1998 movie Saving Private Ryan. At one point, I remember his backyard was a sea of these turtles." Lots and lots of distressing and embossing on this one (a little out of my comfort zone). The background paper started out as light brown and I chalked, inked and painted it. It's still a little warped even after ironing it down. Downloaded the pic from the movie off the internet and all the helmets were pics taken by my Dad.
