Journaling: We were inseparable. The six musketeers my father would call us. Everyone knew that where one was the other 5 were close behind. We knew each other for a while, but became great friends the summer of 1995. We did everything together. We shared so so much. The five of you were my bodyguards. My old fashioned father only trusted you, and that was a rarity. Never would he have allowed me to spend time with boys, but he knew that you protected me and treated me with respect and loved me… like brothers. Year after year our bond grew stronger. We each went to different colleges, but that didn’t stop us from remaining the best of friends. When we were together, whether on weekends or holiday breaks, we had our late night gab session in Ray’s basement, playing crazy 8’s in John’s room, meeting at hessville family restaurant at 2 in the morning for soup and grilled cheese. What didn’t we do together? I have thanked God each and every day for the friends that he bestowed upon me. Friends that have been with me in good times and bad. Friends that stood next to John and I when were married. Friends that I have grown with and continue to grow with. Friends that will be Uncles to my children. The best of friends. What once was… Still is!
