Is it a solid or a liquid? This was the basis of my dd's science fair project. 1 part water to 2 parts cornstarch, mix. Play. The students all loved it and wanted to take it home! Which they did at the end of the science fair!
journaling: The girls needed to do an experiment for the Shanghai East Experimental School’s Fall Science Fair. Ideas that were thrown around included a machine that would dispense chocolate pudding or a talking pumpkin. I suggested cornstarch goo, covering the concept of liquids and solids. The booth was a huge success - they took the 5th grade award for best project and school's Award for Best Overall Project.
