this is such a great tribute to him!! I agree with the other suggestions on aging the puzzle pieces...I haven't attempted to do a vintage/heritage LO yet..This gives me inspiration!! Well done!
I like the color choices but the yellow is bright-maybe antiquing them would help or adding filagree or stamp like Tara suggested. I love the photo matting-really picks up the slight coloring to the photo.
Very Nice vintage page. Love the colors and puzzle piece corner. I agree a title: probably his name or father, dad etc... The yellow pieces are very open and draw a little too much attention to subdue them just a little you could stamp or draw a filagree (sp?) ...I don't know jsut go with your instinct girl!!! Good JOb!!!
What a beautiful photo -- I'm sorry to hear about his struggle, but it's a really great thing you are doing for future generations to share his story. I'm sure the puzzle pieces look great IRL. Yellow is a hard color to scan, especially 3-D. MomofMeg's suggestion to chalk or ink the puzzle pieces sounds like a lovely touch, though, to soften them up a little more. This album is going to beautiful and an absolutely treasure. Thank you for sharing this with us!
Great page. I too would think about a title. What about "DAD" in the middle of the left side by the photo? Nothing too big or fancy, just a simple "Dad" would be perfect. I love the diamond stickers. It adds a great touch. You did a very good job on this!
Great page -- really suits. The diamond embellishments and the papers are great. I like the ideas about putting his name and dates on the page and maybe distressing the puzzle pieces.
I love the pp you chose. I am not sure how to scrap heritage photos but this is perfect. I agree with his name as a title. Love the puzzle pieces. Great work!!
Very nice! I like the matting under the photo. Maybe distressing or chalking the puzzle pieces would make them blend a bit more. The silver "diamond" shapes on your layout work really well.
I truelly love this design for such an awesome pic of your mother's father. But I would go with his name for the title and maybe under or beside his name put year he was born and died!! That if you have his dates to add. If you KWIM!! I love those puzzle pieces and paper combo!! Awesome design!! Keep them coming!!
This is a lo of my mother's father. It was a lot more emotional than I thought and all the journaling is hidden. I wrote it on the patterned papers behind the photo. The puzzle pieces I cut out of craft foam and fixed a marble patterned paper to them. They didn't turn out well in the scan and actually match the lighter swirls in the main pp much better. I used the raised diamond stickers for a little added embellishment
