A layout I created for a workshop to use a split-complementary color scheme. It is based on red, yellow-green and blue-green. I am so glad I reorganized all of my embellishments by color last month, prior to taking the class. It made it so quick to find just the right color embellishments. Although, I did tweak one a little; the crepe paper circle actually had a floral circle in the middle but I punched this grey instead and replaced it so it would not be distracting.
One of the best parts of putting together a layout based solely on color was that it was effortless to blend old and new product. I always try to do that anyway but it takes me a lot longer to get it accomplished. Here I was able to use a Making Memories clear frame from 2005/2006 and some Scenic Route chipboard letters from 2007. Plus, I also used some of my brand new purchases, the Bella Blvd paper and the PL cards. It was definitely the best of both worlds.
The journaling hidden in the pocket I created behind the photo (the photo frames and turquoise paper are actually digital elements printed out as an 8x8) is about how this was Avril's first time to fold her laundry and how enthusiastic she still is about helping out with the laundry. tfl!
