What an accomplishment! What an inspiration you are! You should feel so proud! I really enjoyed reading your notes on this lo. With hard work, you were able to do what some only dream of doing. Thank you for sharing your accomplishment with us!
this is truly wonderful Barb. A tribute to so many. My mother thought she was too "old" to go back to school for her nuring degree when she was a bit over 30 and with kids at home. She regretted it. So my sister, went back to get her degree after a few children and DID it! It really is motivating to see one generation encouraging/leading another. Oh yeah, and lovely LO too.
Wonderful!!!! And congratulations!!!!!! Never say Never! Look at what you have accomplished! I think it's fabulous! And what a beautiful picture and layout too!!!

My daughter (Love1972) sent me this page as soon as she read your story. I was so touched as my story is exactly the same as yours. Graduated from a Catholic High school with only a certificate, went to nursing school after getting my GED at age 36 and graduated Summa Cum Laude. Nice sharing your page with everyone...what a touching story. Congratulations to you!!! Mam Maw

Wow!! Great journaling!! Congrats on getting your Master's!! My mom had to go back to get her GED before going to nursing school and went on to graduate at the top of her class, too!! What an accomplishment!! I'm going to send my mom a link to this so she can see!! Great job on your achievement and the LO!!
This is a great idea. If you don't do some pages for yourself there's a chance no one else will either. This will be a great inspiration for many generations to come. Congratulations on your great accomplishment. Your layout looks great.
This is a pic of me last year at my grad school graduation. Geek, or what? I did this layout for future generations, b/c I think it holds an important message. Journaling is on the pp behind the pic and reads: To my children, and their children…
Never say never. I never thought I would achieve my goal of becoming a nurse; I never thought I would have a Bachelors Degree; and I never, ever thought I had the ability to obtain a Master’s Degree in Nursing (or anything else). But, one step at a time, and against all odds, I have realized my dreams.
From the time I was a young child, I aspired to one day become a nurse. My elementary school teachers (Nuns) sat me in the back of the room, paraded me around with a dunce hat, and retained me in sixth grade. My self-esteem was so low, that I dropped out of high school in the tenth grade. It took several years for me to have enough courage to sit for the GED exam, but I finally did, and passed. Many years later, I took classes at our local community college, and with the help and encouragement of my dear husband, I enrolled in the nursing program. It wasn’t easy with 2 small children, but I studied hard and four years later, became an RN. I enjoyed being a nurse, but wanted more. I eventually enrolled in the University, and after 8 years of hard work and perseverance, I have a Master of Science in Nursing. And… Summa Cum Laude’ – Who could have ever imagined it? Certainly, not me. So, you see, you CAN do anything you want if you set your mind to it. No one ever told me I was smart – quite the contrary. I was motivated. I was goal-oriented. I was determined to reach my goal one step at a time. Never say never. Because you have within you the ability to make all your dreams come true.
