This is my Dad and my son during a particularly difficult time. This photo breaks my heart in all its bittersweetness. There's just something so special about the bond between a boy and his Grandpa. My Dad bowed his head so I couldn't see his tears and he had difficulty choking out what he wanted to say. But Garrett knew. Sometimes a hug is all the words you need.

The tag pulls out to give the photo date and a short description of that moment. I stitched around the heart to ground it so it didn't appear to be floating. The vinyl Thickers that spell l*o*v*e were white and I stained them with pumpkin Staz On. The other letters in the heart are K&Co rub-ons. The felt flower was left-over from another project.
