This layout is for the Scraplift the Person Before You Challenge. I lifted it from Rosita's Oodles of Noodles Layout. http://www.scrapbook.com/galleries/95582/view/2423315/-1/256/1.html

I am also entering this layout in the ABC Challenge for KLM (Khaki, Lace, and Mother). My lace is khaki and there is also a little lace in the inside of the light blue flower. And the layout is about a special book my grandmother used to read to me.

Journaling reads: I have lots of fond memories of my childhood with Grandma Betty. She was one of the most patient and kind people I have even known. She taught me to drink coffee with cream and sugar. We played so many games of Candy Land. We sat in the porch swing for hours on hot summer days. She put my hair into little finger curls for church. But my most treasured memory is reading this book. It had been my dad and aunt's and they had colored lots of the pictures. There was a bedtime story for every day of the year. I thought it was extra special that the story for my birthday was about a little girl named Ann who carved a pumpkin. When I think about What-a-Jolly Street and Hustle Bustle the Parrot I can almost hear Grandma's voice. A few years ago for Christmas she gave me this special book. It brought tears to my eyes and meant so much that I could share this memory with my girls. I brought the book along this past Thanksgiving so Grandma Betty could read to them. Even weak battling cancer and hooked up to oxygen her voice was strong reading my favorite story. The girls listened intently, taking in this special moment with Grandma and me. Little did we know then, this was the last time we would see Grandma. A few months later in March, Grandma lost her battle with cancer and went to be our angel in heaven. I asked Kadence what she remembered about her Great Grandma and she recalled reading this book. I am so glad she was able to share this memory with Grandma just like I had. The book may be old with tattered pages but the memory will live on in our hearts forever. We love you and miss you so much Grandma Betty!
