Plenty of songs have been part of my life. However I wouldn’t have ever said music touched my life or changed the way I see the world, that is until I had the blessing of seeing the band Spur 58 live this summmer. In a auditorium filled with over 600 teenagers and youth leaders there music still made it feel like it was me and God. I have never felt anything like that. For four days straight they rocked worship. I left camp feeling like I had a true understanding of worship, not because of the words they sang or the notes they played but because of there attitude. Spur 58 wasn’t there for their own glory, but for the glory of God. They were there for me and the 600 other people that filled that auditorium every morning and afternoon.

What touched me most about them was the fact that they didn’t take request. When they announce that to us at the first worship service I was shocked. I had never seen a band or worship leader aprouch “worship” that way. In fact I have usually seen in approached the opisite...all request all the time. I know that simple act of obediece from them led youth to Christ. It taught me a vaulable lesson to...It isn’t about making me, or others happy, it’s simply about pleasing God.

So now music is a big part of who I am. It does shape my thoughts and best of all now it gets me in touch with a dear friend.
