This is a page for my BOM. It is about the day I FINALLY was allowed to get my hair cut!
Traditionally, Native Americans only cut their hair as a sign of mourning. I had always wanted to cut my hair but my mother wouldn't allow it, not even when we lost my sister... Finally when I turned 15, she allowed me to get 12 inches cut off. I always wore it in braids pulled into the front because I played basketball and girls would pull my hair to stop me or keep me back. My cousins would pull my hair when we fought. With it above my elbows they all had to get much closer to pull my hair! :) -1997
