These are carved headstones from the mid to late 1700s. The oldest is from 1760 or so, and the newest of this group is 1780, I think. (The sarcophogus is illegible now - grown over with lichen.) The carvings are still beautiful 200-odd years later and are in stark comparison with the shiny hunks of marble you see in modern graveyards.
