what a shame the one didn't make it; so glad you were able to get a pic while this guy was still all fluffy and downy!he's pretty crazy looking-love those big feet!
oh my goodness - probably not the cutest "kid" in the neighborhood. Just watch out for momma when you are taking those pics. TFS!! keep us posted. (sorry to hear that one of the babies didn't make it.)
He is fluffy, but not cute...Be careful, his beak is probably already strong. We've had the adults peck chunks out of edging, they probably thought it was a snake!
Sad to say, when I went out to the tree trunk to check, there was the softest. downiest feather on the edge of the stump. I think one had died and she had taken in out of the nest. But this little one was in there lying down on it's side. I feared the worst, but it got to it's feet. And what big feet it had! Surprisingly, an even louder hiss than momma too!
