Oh my goodness. I am so sorry for the loss of beloved Viv. I really love this wonderful layout made in memory of her. It is so meaningful, touching, and absolutely beautiful.
Such a great tribute to an old friend, a woman who inspires us all, and I agree that it is a really special community here, lots of talented designers like you.. :)
This has touched me. Many really don't think of Motherhood as a vocation, and many woman don't think of their husbands and what they deal with on a day to day basis as being the protector and providers for us. So often when they walk in the door mom will hand the children over and say your turn, not thinking how he just put in a days work. And for those who are dual working homes, striking a healthy balance. Thank you for sharing :)
How do I even begin? Ten years ago, I went to my first Mothers' Retreat, held annually by the Women's Ministry of my church. I met so many wonderful women, including Viv. Two years later, the Team asked me to handle registration, which I have been doing for the last 8 years.
Two years ago, we celebrated the 20th Mothers' Retreat. Viv was 1 of 7 women who have been on Team for the entire 20 years. We had a wonderful celebration, I made the "Fabulous 7" sashes that read 20 Years for Moms.
We have several "talks" by moms, but Viv always gave the "going home" talk, reminding us that we have had a wonderful, spiritual weekend, but our husbands and children may not have. Husbands could be frazzled, children could be over-sugared... be prepared. Her most important message was to love our husbands, and pray for them.
Since I became Registrar, I have been taking pictures and keeping a scrapbook for the Mothers' Retreat ( funny to watch the evolution of my style over the years)
This year, we lost our Beloved Viv so I felt I needed to do an "In Loving Memory" page for the scrapbook.
Two years ago, Renea Harrison aka Reneabouquets, posted a layout called I Love this Memory which I put in my favorites. This was the perfect layout for my tribute to Viv. I LOVE Renea's placement of her lace and flowers and also loved the lacing with tulle. I must say, this may be my all time favorite layout, Viv would love it.
As always, I am so grateful for the inspiration the women who post their gorgeous creations here on Scrapbook.com. My scrapbooks are so much more beautiful thanks to their generous sharing. TFL!
