This is the for the August lyrics challenge. I used Cher's If I could turn back time. The journalling is written to my dd who is now 13, it reads: Throughout my life I have made choices that later I have regretted, my divorce from your father and leaving you and your brother are choices that I second guess every day. You are always telling me that you wish I had taken the two of you with me when I left and how much better your lives would have been. I know that things were not the best for you but no matter how much we wish for things to be different there is no way of knowing if things would have been better if I had taken you with me. Many people tell you that I took the easy way out leaving you behind to go and live the single life, but they don't know how hard it was to let you go. They don't know how much my heart ached for you every day. They had no idea how much I wished you were with me, and how I wanted to be a part of your every day life. I want you to know that if it were possible I would change so many things, if I could turn back time...
