I'm using up scraps like crazy these days. These are pictures of my DS's first Christmas program. Unfortunately, It didn't go quite as planned.

Too Sick to Sing
Cameron, you were so excited about the Christmas program at school. Even before Thanksgiving, you were singing the carols and practicing the hand movements. The day before the big performance, you went to school and had a perfect rehearsal. That’s when all the trouble began. That night you got sick. You said that your tummy hurt and you had a fever. The medicine made you feel better, and you begged me to let you go to school and sing. I knew that I should keep you home, but you seemed to be so much better, and I couldn’t bear your disappointment. I should have realized that you were still too sick when you refused to change into dress pants. You cried that you wanted to be comfortable and that you needed your jeans. Still, when I brought you to school at noon, all seemed well. I sat with the other parents, camera ready to catch your shining moment, and you refused to get up on stage with your class. You really wanted to sing, and said you wanted to stand behind the rest of the kids, but even that was too much. Finally you decided to sit on my lap and sing along from the side. After the concert was over, you refused to sit on Santa’s lap, even for the promise of a treat. You went back into your classroom, and you were enjoying the party, when suddenly you announced that you were going to be sick. I felt so bad for you. The day that you had been looking so forward to, ended so miserably. I learned that day that you couldn’t just wish an illness away, but I’m so sorry that you were too sick to sing.

Thanks for looking!
