This is my entry for the Scraptathlon challenge - (and I'm unbelievably excited, because I won this week!) I know I went a completely different route than everybody else, but I love how this turned out. 2 years ago, I made one of my very first scrapbooks as a gift for my Grandma's 98th birthday. This LO will bee an addition to it for her 100th. I had a ton of fun making this LO!

Gram - 100 years
(main journaling - left page) Grandma, I can hardly imagine the things that you have seen in the course of 100 years. You have seen times of war and periods of peace. You have seen eras of poverty and times of prosperity. You have seen amazing advances in science, technology, and medicine. You have watched over 3 children, 12 grandchildren, and an ever-expanding number of great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Yet more amazing than things your eyes have seen, are the things I see when I look into you eyes.
In your eyes, I see strength and humor; I see determination and will. I see the wisdom acquired over the course of a century mixed with an ever-present twinkle of fun. In your eyes I see a connection to the past and a hope for the future. I see happiness and understanding. But most of all, in your eyes I see love.

Hidden Journaling Tag - left page ( I used a bunch of different heart stamps and mixed 4 colors of ink to make a patterned background on the cardstock tags)
I vividly remember Grandma coming to visit during the summers when I was growing up. I remember as a small child being amazed by the fact that I was almost as tall as Grandma. But despite her small stature, Grandma seemed strong and tough. She had an amazing ability to bring the family together. Even though we all had incredibly different interests and personalities, when Grandma would visit, the entire family could be found gathered around a jigsaw puzzle. Grandma never seemed old to me, and I remember how amazed people were when I would tell them that my Grandma was in her 90s and still flew out to visit us every summer. I always wished that we lived a little bit closer to Grandma, so that we could see her more often, but Grandma always made sure I felt a special connection. She would send cards and gifts, but most of all, I loved getting notes written to me by my Gram.

Grandmother definition - I know that this doesn't seem like a big deal, but I am so proud of myself for making this definition specifically for my grandma.
Grandmother-n: 1. the mother of my father 2. a mother with lots of practice 3. someone with generations of experience in love [syn: grandma, grandmama, nana, granny, grannie, GRAM]

The tag on the right page contains more personal journaling.

The words Gram and 100 years are all hand cut.

Thanks to Kia for this awesome challenge! Thanks to everyone who voted! and Thanks for looking!
