Book mark for my Stepmother for Mother's Day, 2018. Playing with acrylics, stamps, doodling. Manila tag, distressed background stamp w/potting soil ink, drew doodles with pencil then...(do I dare say it???)... Sharpies, then painted with gesso then acrylics. The gesso is just to "erase" the dark background so you don't have it bleed through). After all of my painting was complete, I re-traced with the wide Sharpie on areas that had been painted over. Played with my daughter's art set and found a white oil crayon and highlighted the edges of the petals - very fun and gave it a cool look. But I did learn you can't write on that part later. Sentiment on bottom was a stamp with embossing powder, but rest is doodling by me. Usually I can't draw a straight line and all I can draw is stick people, so I was SHOCKED that I liked how this turned out. I think using a pencil gave me more courage, knowing my eraser was at the ready. Ribbons, fibers and charms are from stash. Other side is a big heart and is a separate photo entry. This was super fun and can't wait to give it away. Blessings, Debbie
