SHCG: These are so awesome!!! You're a pro at ATC's :) I love the layers and colors that you used, esp the map of the location ~ very nice touch! I also love the images of the artists that you included, great job :)
SHCG: I love them. What an awesome idea and the artist choice are fantastic. I love how you created the feel of the city and multiple cultures and styles into these. At least that is what I see. So cool!
SHCG: Seriously? Would you expect anything other than an, "I love these!" from me, and would need me to explain why? I think you should make one more set of 4 and send them to Tim. How's that for a suggestion? I actually have a figurine of the character on the far left on my bookshelf. I should send a pic to you. The stamp kinda reminds me of you. I can see the thin ring colored in a golden yellow orange, but that really is the only thing I might add/change. People will love these. I love the map and the sentiment. The pink and green complement each other perfectly. Your ATCs transport me.
SHCG: I love them all! Brilliant idea to use museum for transporting you places! The images from the exhibits are so cool and so well placed on the cards! I love the woman with the shades and the bright colors! Great!
These are ATCs from my Travel ATC Swap w/ the Manhattan Scrapbooking Meetup.com group (there's a series of 8, the rest are repeats of these guys). The swap specified: scrap some place faraway or local, include some kind of map, & make cards close to identical (so people wouldn't be going on about who gets the better cards).
Due to this identical card requirement, I couldn't narrow down the faraway places I like to just one! So I chose someplace local - the museum. During an excellent recent visit to the Museum of Modern Art here in NYC, I saw exhibits by Tim Burton & Claude Monet; I included images from those artists. I also recently visited the Metropolitan Museum of Art here in NY & saw a wonderful Victorian collage exhibits & other outstanding works, but I didn't get images from those. I was greatly transported by these visits. That's why I broadened my place to be "a MUSEUM" rather than specifying a particular museum, 'cause you can get transported at any museum!
The scan doesn't really capture the brightness of the green Ellie Pooh cs background or the multicolored gems all that well... oh well. The woman in shades stamp is embossed. The map is an online image showing the location of the MOMA (though again, I didn't want to limit the message to just one museum).
I'm turning these in tomorrow, I hope people like them!
