SHCG: LUV the blues & browns. The round leaf accents look great against the square, geometric layout. It is almost like the feather in the opening scene of Forest Gump. The leaves float across the page carrying your eye with them. My only suggestion would be a little white something on the dark browns. maybe a little doodling, white handwriting or just a little white distressing....
SHCG: This is so cool. The leaves are beautiful. I like how you inked the photos. The chain on the folder is awesome. Considering that this background of this page was was designed a long time ago, it works perfectly for this topic. Great colors. I love the title of Hood River
SHCG: What a great spread and the design is nice. I love the little file folder, so cute and the leaves are really nice. I love the bg paper, really nice when you zoom in to it and the definitions are a nice touch :)
SHCG: What a great way to remember the trip! I love, love the colors! The stamped leaf is great and I think the way you position the leaves lead the eye from page to page very nicely! I love the journaling in the file folder and the ball chain! Also, I love the bg cs!
SHCG: Very nice continuity across this page, and nice overall photo placement. So cool how you premade this spread, and it worked out for these trip photos. I absolutely love the mini folder to contain your journaling adorned with the mini ball chain and the mini gears throughout. Where the heck did you get the chain and gears anyway? I must get my hands on them! I love the rustic look to the title and the dictionary entry words. If I forget that I've made a mental note, please remind me to try your two-toned stamping. Fab technique! A few things: I'd like to see the leaf on the group shot moved to above the shot of you in the pink blouse, to widen your visual triangles. I can see the dictionary entry word pieces with torn edges, to vary the straight lines of most of the page. Finally, I can see the relax piece moved to the left. That solid cs has a such a cool texture. I want that, too. I really like the pps and the color combo, as well.
I had only intended on doing 1 LO on our trip to Oregon in '07, so I focused on the town Hood River, which is where we went after visiting my BIL's family in Portland. We love Hood River; it's a charming, cool, scenic town overlooking the Columbia River & Washington State border.
This was scrapped over a year ago without pictures at a Club Scrap event, per their "Assembly Line Scrapbooking" technique of scrapping without pics (I just said that, right? LOL). I was pleased to see that this LO worked for these pics so I just affixed the pics, added embellies & journaling. Journaling is in the little file folder which opens up. The leaves are stamped 2x (green & brown).
After I scrapped this, I realized I wanted to scrap more of the trip, so I did my "Oregon '07" LO.
Journaling for those interested: "March 2007 – Our first full day in Hood River, OR – a cool town on the Columbia River. Had great views from Lincoln Land, our beautiful 2-story rented townhome. Following Greg's birthday massage (Tocca Stella lotion), we were off to explore & errand… Ski gloves for me. Trillium Café lunch (great fried ravs & chicken/Tillamook cheddar/avo 'wich). Gift shopping. Drove around… it was cloudy but nice. Saw Mt. Hood Meadows, where we were to ski/snowboard the next day; we expected snow that night. Also saw Timberline, the resort lodge of which was used in 'The Shining''s exterior shots. After, chilled at home. Then – Jeff, Patty & Esti arrived from Portland for the night! Horsefeathers dinner (good pub food,'meh' fish). Back at Lincoln Land – wine & Benerofe boys DVDs! Slept like a dream in the gloriously comfy bed."
Funny (well, funny now) thing - I got Hood River confused in my head w/ a place in Upstate NY where we once stayed called "High Falls." Had the title/journaling on this saying "High Falls" for MONTHS until I did my "Oregon '07" LO, revisited my journaling & saw my mistake! I was crushed but quickly dusted myself & a bottle of Undu off to correct this. AND just as I was typing this, I made the same mistake AGAIN.
