I love that you included a photo of him by himself as well as a group shot with his co-workers! That motto is fantastic - and even better that it is in your father's handwriting!
Love how these 2 Los compliment each other in design and color ...and i love that quote. WOW! and it is such an awesome thing to have it in his own handwriting!
You're so lucky to have these photos! Wow!!! And that piece in his own writing - so special. I really like how you framed that photo on the bottom with ribbon.
Wow! This is sooo amazing that you have these photos of your dad, but even more amazing that you have that note with the "motto". Incredible! Love the cardboard with the purple! And the ribbon frame around the smaller photo is wonderful!!
My Dad served as a Wireless Operator both on board ship and up north on the Distant Early Warning line in Cambridge. Later in life, he became involved in computers in the very beginnings, when they took up an entire room! I think he would be amazed at the technologic advances they have made today! The journalling is a scan of a note we found in his handwriting, tucked in an old photo album and it reads "If you cannot be first there can be no consolation in being second - yet there is no disgrace either, but let not first place recede to the extent that second place is acceptable" An exacting motto, one my father held fast to, and one of the reasons I pride myself on a strong work ethic to this day.
