I'm in love with learning, and so I've been making 3D projects lately because it seems they're kind of like physics or carpentry, both areas I have little knowledge of. I love science (biology and chemistry), and so the idea of using test tubes thrills me. So, this project appeals to me on many levels. I love how I got to play with colors and textures, as well as dimension. I love how the project is useful. I love how it's something I've never done before.

I made this carousel from a digital file I got from Nicole Silhouette's etsy store and put it together following Tracey Farr's assembly tutorial. Its frame is made entirely from cardstock and glue. The glass test tubes came from Michaels. The little flowers from Walmart. The flowered cardstock came from scrapbook.com. I used neptune nuvo drops on the finial and the base. The glue I used is Nuvo Deluxe adhesive. The test tubes are actually too big to do the carousel justice because they obstruct the view of the finial. I could get smaller test tubes, but I'm going to use what I have. The tubes are filled with flat backed gems, but I will probably add flat backed pearls, small flowers, and sequins. I did remove two test tubes for one of the photos so you can get a better view.
