I made seven advent calendars for my grand nieces and nephews. I painted each one including every drawer, inside and out. I cut and attached patterned paper to each drawer front. I painted and glued a knob onto each drawer. On the back, I attached a note to each of them along with the story of advent calendars. In each drawer I included a riddle and a prize. This turned out to be a huge job, especially the painting because the paper mâché just drank the paint. I was really happy how they turned out and the kids loved them.
