I found this Lo in the random pics on the gallery page. Ohhhh poor baby! So happy your shih tzu was ok. I have one too and never heard of that eye condition they can get. I know they say their eye's can get hurt easily because they are so huge and bulge out a bit. Thanks for sharing your Lo and story on your shih tzu.
OMG - What an ordeal... We had a similar situation with our dog last year, and almost lost her - so I totally understand how you were feeling. I'm so glad your little pup is OK. This is a great layout! I love the puppy pics!!! TFS!
AWWW!! this was such a sad little story. GREAT! lo. My mom has this very same dog. My mom left Ga. here where I live about a month ago to be with my grieving aunt that just lost her husband,in Alaska. She had to leave little teddy here, same breed as yours.. I watched day and night as the poor little guy cried for my mom that has had him since birth. now 1.5 yrs old. He wouldn't eat or drink anything. I couldn't stand it anymore and just put him on a plane two weeks ago. They were reunited and happy as ever! I'm so glad your little guy is going to be o.k. He is so adorable..
Renee' Atlanta....
Poor Baby!! I like your use of ribbons and stitching on this LO. Your screen name cracked me up, BTW! It took a couple minutes of thinking to figure out where I'd heard that before! :)
This lo is about the most traumatic day of my life. The hidden journaling says:
"September 24, 2004 was the most traumatic day of my life. My precious Shih Tzu puppy Roq and our other 2 dogs (Scully and Kody) were in the sunroom with Ricker begging for food. Kode got too excited and jealous of Roq and snapped at him, accidentally catching Roq's eye with his tooth. That caused Proptosis, a fairly commom condition in Shih Tzus I'm told, basically his eye popped out of socket. Ricker and I immediately took him to the Emergency Vet Clinic with Roqqy crying and pawing at his eye the whole way. I had to hold him so that he couldn't get to his eye for 20 minutes once we got there. The Vet said that there was a possibility that he could lose his eye or at least sight in that eye and that he'd need to stay overnight for surgery. Leaving him hurting and alone was the hardest thing and that's when I lost it. During surgery the pushed his eye back in, sewed it up, and protected it with a cone that was to be kept on for 2 weeks. When they took the stitches out they gave us the wonderful news that his eyesight would be back to normal and he'd see just fine. Thank God for small miracles. I love you Punkie!"
