11/6/05 We’ve been keeping a close eye on Lillian’s top teeth, as they’ve been loose since the beginning of summer. Well, lo & behold, on Wednesday night, Lillian got really excited after eating an apple. She came over to me and showed me her loose tooth – on the bottom! She could wiggle it so much that it was almost perpendicular. I wasn’t quite sure what to do at that point, and remembered all those times when my dad would pull out the pliers to go after our teeth (and the many more times he threatened to). But I decided to wait and see. We watched a Little House on the Prairie and I had Lillian keep wiggling it and wiggling it. About an hour later, she came and asked me to pull it out. She was so brave as I grabbed and pulled. It came right out and she was thrilled. Joey was too, and he told her, “Wow, Lillian, you look really cute without your tooth.”
When Lillian woke up the next morning, there was a note from the tooth fairy and a dollar in the place of her tooth. The note read: “Dear Lillian, I’ve been watching you and I know you lost a tooth yesterday! Happy Day! You were so brave when it came out while you were eating your apple – I’m proud of you. I will make good use of your tooth and have left something for you in its place. You are growing up to be a sweet wonderful little girl and I hope you are happy. I’ll watch for those other teeth to come out! Be good. Ms. Tooth Fairy.”
I used Julie Mead's awesome "I feel Happy" kit for this layout, found at ThreeScrapateers
