Kit used: Christina Bartholomew's Halloween Harvest at SOTB or 3S
Journaling reads: Lillian was quite worried this year when there were no pumpkins growing in our garden. We planted them in a new place this year, and it just got too much shade for the production of pumpkins. So from the moment the calendar said, “October” Lillian was worried about what we would do about pumpkins to carve. Each week, she’d ask if it was time to carve pumpkins for family home evening yet. Finally, she was relieved when her class took a field trip to Pumpkin and and thy could each buy a pumpkin for $1.00. With budgets and gas prices the way they are, they asked for parent volunteers to help drive people on the field trip, and DH volunteered. Lillian was so happy to have her dad along. Best of all, they came home with three large pumpkins. We got around to carving them the day before Halloween, and we had a great time. Everyone wanted a scary face on their pumpkin. Lillian drew several faces on her pumpkin before being satisfied it was scary enough. Joey & Michael were more open to suggestions, and all three were thrilled with the final result, especially when we lit them Halloween night.
