But I found the best part of faire after that nightmarish first attempt at garb approval. Everyone knew what happened – and the Costume Nazi’s name is well earned after all. So my new faire family helped me cobble together an approvable wench costume, and helped tune my character’s history to match. The mug was a gift, decorated by Jerry Brawner to reflect my passion for writing and Celtic lore. The hat from Mistress Robyn, with a garland from Laura. And other assorted bits and baubles from others.
I passed approval the second time – with plenty of friends there for support!
