Too funny Helen!! You'll have to write it into you will!! Amazing photos, as always!! I didn't realise that they mummified animals as well!! Totally cool page.....love the fonts you used too!!
I love the bg pic, absolutely brilliant. Those crocs look NEARLY as good as new........scary! Love your travelogue, and hope it won't be too long before you are back having wonderful adventures again.
Oh my! I couldn't imagine being protected by such a creature, but then of course I'd most likely end up in his tummy, therefore protected from everything else.lol. Some very interesting cultures and beliefs from around the world! Thank you for sharing them with us!!
The background here is a photo I took of a wall at Kom Ombo, Egypt. This is the Temple of the Crocodile and Falcon Headed Gods. On the site there is a special area that contains this pair mummified crocodiles (Crocs!) that had been found perfectly preserved in someone's tomb....for good luck and protection on a journey to the afterlife. The style of the fonts (Edwardian Script and Broadway ) are from an ad I saw on TV today for guess what? CROCS of course! Oh, how I wish I had been wearing my Crocs as we toured these sites all over Egypt! Somebody please...put a pair of Crocs in MY tomb! LOL...
