Beautiful shot - I love acorns. Ours don't produce them every year, but they sure are this year after all the rain! It's cool how many different shapes there are! :)
yesterday's photo inspired me to go gather nuts and acorns, I picked up hickory nuts, black walnuts and acorns from the red and white oaks, I placed them all on a white board along with a penny for size perspective, the bright sun and white board in combo with my camera, washed out all detail, maybe i will try again, but this is a beautiful shot,
HOORAY, I love it when we find the beautiful and eternal in a small growing thing. This photo is awesome, Lynn! I love the detail in the cap, reminds me of the detail in the roofs of St Basils in Russia. If fact the whole acorn looks like the domes of St Basils. I love this photo big time. (is it October yet?)
Yeah - underfoot they are painful, but I found this sweet little branch fallen down on my deck and had to bring it in to photograph. The beauty of those little buds forming along the branch really is amazing. Never ceases to amaze me how the simple things we take for granted are so intricate and beautiful.
