Oh, I forgot... What do you do when it's rainning? Do you put a tarp over it (and then you can't see the sky), or do you just all put on raincoats? Or do you wait until the rain has stopped before going in? :o)
Thanks for sharing this picture with us. I would have been a bit shy to go take a peek by myself, but with you as my tour guide, I don't feel like I'm being nosy... even if I am. ;o)
A lot of work went into this. You must have taken the photo before everyone arrived. I can imagine it full of life and celebration. Thank you so much for taking us along! It has been a wonderful lesson.
Very spiritual and powerful ritual. I've been blessed with your open heart & soul. Not many religions intergrate they beliefs so refine & deep as yours.
It looks so big inside. The decorations are beautiful, so colorful. I bet it is just wonderful with the moonlight coming thru. Thank you for sharing and teaching us about this.
This is the temple sukkah. Decorated by the hebrew school students with hanging gourds, veggies, hay bales, corn stalks, paper chains and various other artwork. The entire congregation gathers here for a holiday luncheon and all the hebrew school classes spend some class time in the sukkah learning and performing the rituals involved with the holiday. You will note the ceiling is just beams of wood with openings where you can see the sky - a requirment for a proper sukkah. The sukkah is especially lovely at night when the moonlight/starts iluminate it, however photos in that lighting are close to impossible so you'll just have to trust me :)
