Great job!! I mean YOU not the crane. How very interesting to view. But that one officer , top row, second from the right, if so small! Guess no height limit in NYC? This is a wonderful collage, Lynn (so does this count for TWELVE days? (just kidding)
OMG. I wonder looking at this.........do they close off sidewalk underneath/around where the are hoisting things?? Then I wonder.........how will they get the crane off the top of that building? Better yet............how did they get it UP there in the first place?
wow - I can't believe no one was hurt - glass must have flown all over the place! Incredible! Love our collage - thanks for posting so many photos - we'd have had too many questions, otherwise! :)
Amazing no one was hurt! How strange to see no cars on the street. I hope it didn't cause you too much stress getting home. I like the way you told the story with the collage. TFS
there was some drama in Manhattan today - see that crane up on top of the building in the bottom row of photos? Well... it was hoisting 40 feet of glass & metal up to the tippy top of the new Bank of America Tower being built when... all of a sudden it wasn't anymore and the glass and metal crashed to the ground. Police, Fire, OEM, the mayor's office etc. were ALL on the scene, 42nd street was closed (see the total lack of cars in the bottom right photo?) and pedestrian traffic was re-routed all over town. RIGHT at the start of evening "rush hour" Oh boy... :) Thankfully word is no one was hurt, although I did see a few ambulances responding, but hopefully they were unnecessary or for minor injuries of those trying to clean up the mess.
