This is my 70+ pound baby, Ragz. She is an Old English Sheepdog that my hubby bought me when she was a seven week old ball of fur. At the age of five months we found a knot on her hip that was causing her pain, so off to the vet we went. She was diagnosed with the worse case of hip dysplasia that they had seem in a dog that young. I was heart broken! The cost of the surgery was about the same amount of buying another puppy. After my husband said "We can replace a hip, but we can't replace her personality", there was no question about it. We put her on pain meds for months until she had developed enough for hip surgery. She is now nine years old and other that weighing a BIT more & having a slight gimp, she is as sweet as ever.
