This is my grandmother's elder brother -Haridas- and his wife -Nandini- on their 1st wedding anniversary. They really loved each other and blissfully celebrated 54 years of marriage life together. As tomorrow is grandpa Haridas's 2nd death anniversary I am really pleased to submit this layout for this weeks heritage challenge at ScrapArtist.

Mercy Fernando was only 13 years old when she first met the young man Navarathna Haridas Vidyapathi. They first saw each other at a wedding on the year of 1943 and he was ten years elder to her. Haridas was really interested about this girl and after two years, through a friend of him he was able to find the place where this girl lives. Somehow he managed to make a good company with the girl’s farther and ultimately after few years he offered his proposal. Apart from the marriage proposal he also proposed a new name for her, “Nandini” which means bliss. They fell in love and get married on the 1st of December 1949.
Nandini and Haridas blessed with two children and they happily celebrated 54 years of marriage life together. Haridas was sick for few years and Nandini dedicated all her time to take care of him as a devoted wife till his last minuet. On 8th June 2004 Haridas passed away at the age of 84 years. She is not weeping for Haridas, because she believes that all his good karma has taken him to a better place, so with full of cheer she reminds all the wonderful moments they shared together. And she thinks that he is still there with her as she knows that he can’t stay away from her. Their everlasting love story continues.
