JOURNALING: Chadds Ford Elementary School “held back” one-third of their first grade class each year. So one-third of each class had already experienced first grade and all that was taught that year. This put a lot of pressure on the other two-thirds of the class, and at the end of the year, our Jennifer was in the one-third that were asked to repeat first grade.
