Happy Birthday today to your ds Kelly!!! Great page ... I just want you to know that I F*E*E*L you ... my ds is 8 years old and reading is not his favorite thing either (which crushes my heart because I love to read). Nice colors and great creativity! Awesome boy page!
What a clever theme...I was thrilled that my dds both were readers...not all the time..friends and vid games came first for awhile. I'm inspired to do a reading layout now...thanks....Your layout is truly cool and beautiful and very creative..love your bookshelf. Love the title work and the message with the luggage. Our Harry Potter books have different cover artwork..each country is different...weird huh?

Wow Kelly, this is a WONDERFULLY Masculine lo - not a flower in site, which PLEASED your DS, I am sure. Love the shelving unit you created to display the books. The entire lo is very creative. TFS.
Our son, who turns 17 on April 7, has pretty much stopped reading, and spends most of his free time on the XBox, computer and with friends. So last week during our Spring Break holiday, when he picked up a novel I had bought him at Christmas (!), I was overjoyed....to put it mildly!
And no, I didn't grab my camera to take his photo that minute! ha ha! But I did think of designing a layout about reading, featuring a photo of him reading the same series of books on our family RV trip a couple of years ago.
I used the April kit from The Urban Scrapbook that has loads of Bobunny "Weekend Market" products, plus corrugated paper, ribbon and cardstock.
I tried to create a bookshelf with the corrugated paper to hold 3 of his favourite novels. I took photos of the novels, and then cut them out to fit into the shelves.
