True beautiful. You write your thoughts well. I thought you might have Minnesota connections "Go Vikes" This makes me think of my childhood in the city. Hummmm What could I write?
WOW! Your journaling is amazing! I have always had a romanticized view of farms and farm life. This is so amazing. I love the embossed flowers you chose...they hit the spot.
This has to be one of my most favorite layouts here at sb.com. You title, your photos and your incredible journaling are all just perfect. I had a similar childhood experience on an uncle's farm. Your journaling made me smell the milk house again. Thank you for sharing your story.
Great choice of pictures to get the feel of the memory. Especially love the one with the tractor in the foreground. Beautifully done. Love the banner/flags. I hope you frame this one so all can enjoy often.

Pictures from the family farm in Minnesota. My most favorite place in the world. Our private family cemetery is even here, and I'm really glad I can share it with everyone. This is one of my favorite layouts ever, and def. the most sentimental! I must admit that I bawled my eyes out as I wrote the journaling, and my grandmother (she grew up there since she was 3 mos. old) cried as well. Journaling is my fav. part, and the tag. lol!
Sorry some of it's blurry, working with dial up and a too small scanner lol!!
Journaling say: These are my roots. Long hot summers feeding calves, chasing kittens, and trudging through cow-pie-mud. Watching as our own creations sprout in the gardens and fields. The warm summer breezes sweet with the smell of hay and hum of crickets, I’ll forever remember. The distinct thick creamy smell of fresh milk as you walk through the dairy barn, and the calm deep songs of the cows mooing. There’s a magic here like no other, so enchanting you can almost see the memories from the past play out in the dusky twilight. When our grandparents are children again and loved ones of the past walk a moment longer, a memory suspended in time. The feelings here are indescribable, the fulfillment you feel in a place like this. So raw, so real, this is the one place in the world where you can truly find yourself. With your spirit a resounding ache in your chest, it’s impossible not to feel at peace with the world. If there was ever a heaven on earth then this surely must be it. Only a place touched by the hand of God could be this perfect.
