This is a photo full of firsts.
This is the FIRST...time that I used my sewing machine. I finally gathered the courage to pull the sewing machine out of my closet after ten years of lying dormant.
This is the FIRST...time that I used chipboard in a layout. I decoupaged the chipboard with tissue paper and mulberry paper and triple coated it with clear lacquer.
This is the FIRST...time that I used my own handwriting in a page. Before this point I considered my handwriting in a page to be taboo. My thoughts changed when I was looking around my mother's desk one day and came across a notepad with my daddy's handwriting in it; he had passed about a year prior. In that moment I felt something that touched me in a way that I cannot explain. It was then I knew the importance of journaling in your own handwriting.
