Peeking into your heritage layouts and this caught my eye! How great is this photo???!!! I love all the handwork and wish I had the patience and talent to sew on a layout. I love the burlap touch, as it makes it more masculine and adds a great bit of texture too. Terrific layout to treasure!
I am so drawn to these vintage lo's...this one is spectacular!! Nestle's..chocolate heaven!!! Your embellies are superb...and all that hand stitching "a labour of love!!" ;))
Love this photo and page... it must be in Pennsylvania because of the Hershey truck yes? I am getting lots of old photo's too and love to scrap them... thanks so much for sharing yours with us!
wow, what an inspiration this is! Simply wonderful! sorry I've missed commenting for the last 6 weeks. I had to be away to care for my mom and dad. He had to be in the hospital for a month after emergency heart surgery.
Ive been sitting here staring at this LO for the last few moments and Im blown away. I just ordered the bird cage trinket along with a few other things from Scrap Matrix and Im deligthed to see it used in this LO. Every single thing you did here is perfect and beautifully done. I love it!!
Wow, I love the story and the photo. Your stitching and eyelet work is spot on! You've done a great job with the design and I think the title is perfect! :-)
What a wonderful photo, love how you have embellished it with those fabulous heritage embellies!! Love the little bird cage, that is so sweet, love the alternate eyelets and brads too. Fabulous!!
WOW Maryanne, your stitching is fantastic - love the addition of the brads and eyelets. The colors, timepieces and wonderful chippies are perfect for the era. This is a MAGNIFICENT heritage lo. I've given your title dilemma some thought - didn't come up with anything too creative but since it IS CHOCOLATE he's delivering ..... "SWEET DELIVERY" or "Girls best friend" or "any TIME is Chocolate TIME".
The stitching looks fabulous,Maryanne-totally worth the time(and I know that does take time!)love the eyelets , flourishes and timepieces, and that little bird in the cage is precious! What a wonderful pic, even if you don't know the whole story behind it!
WOW, WOW, WOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Maryanne.............. that is a masterpiece..... a work of art!!! What a great old photo!!! And I just absolutely LOVE how you scrapped it!!!!! The bit of burlap looks awesome & I'm loving the clocks!!!! Amazing work on the stitching & the chippies are to die for as well as that little metal lamp!!! GORGEOUS................... & I think the title is perfect!!! Fav for sure!!
For you dear Maryanne-I have been sitting here wracking my brain for a suitable title. I have sung the Nestle's jingle ad, nothing. Remembered that my mom used to put Nestle's Crunch candy bars in my lunchbag! "Crunch Time"! Upon seeing your use of burlap, thought of Escape Kitty! Thought she had gone space traveling! Great photo and creative beautiful layout!
Utterly fantastic layout! I love everything about this! So many amazing details with the stitching, the brads, the pocket watch on the chairn and the texture of the burlap! I could go on and on! FAV!
wow - wow - just wow. Your stitching on the edges is perfection. Your chippies are amazing - need them! Your color combo so perfectly vintage. that photo? I just adore chocolate thus I adore this photo. FAVVVVVVV
How about: "Chocolate Time", "Time for chocolate" or "There has always been time for chocolate"?
I love everything about this page - I'm over-awed. Straight into my favourites! May I have a go at lifting it if I pluck up the confidence? LOL
I love that title! And you and Vija both finished your "unfinished" layouts together!!!!! WOW! Was there a full moon? LOL! All kidding aside, I absolutely love the photo, your title (definitely NOT boring), and your gorgeous design! A real treasure of a page!!!!!
OMG an utterly brilliant lo.Amazing vintage photo and so beautifully scrapped. Love all the fabulous details especially all that great stitching and the lovely flowers.
This layout has been sitting waiting to be finished for a couple of months now. I just cannot think of a suitable title, so I have cheated for the time being and used a computer font just for the sake of giving it a name. Delivery Time sounds so obvious and boring...this fellow has got a truck load of chocolate in there, surely there is a perfectly delicious title that would suit this...any suggestions would be appreciated. I am really not sure who the man is, but think it may be one of my grandmothers brothers. My Great Grandfather was a publican and the balcony of the Hotel above the truck has his name on it, so I was able to identify where the photo was taken and that it would have been in the 1930's. I have used a mix of papers again, trying to use up old stash. I did some hand stitching which normally I would have done by machine, but I only had embroidery thread in the colour I wanted to use. It would have been much quicker if I had gone to town and bought some new thread for the machine :) Thanks so much for stopping by.
