The photo and the stamping and every little inch makes my kitty jaw drop. wow - this is a fav. elegant and chic and so puuuuurfectly vintage. great choice in keeping photo scratches.
It is just perfect - love that you left the photo like it was - really shows the age of it - such a lovely page - the beautiful flowers and lace and all the pretty punching - you did a fantastic job with the monochrome effect!
Oh my, stunning, personally I think you have the most stunning heritage los too. Love the monochromatic look and all the lace....like I said, STUNNING!!
I am glad you left the cracks in the photo! I love it just the way it is!!!! And your page is just, well, just WOW!!!!! So, so beautiful and full of gorgeous details. An amazing heritage page, my friend!
Maryanne, this is so beautiful. You did a great job with the monochromatic palette. The grays are very soft and elegant. Your punchwork is exquisite and I love how you layered the trim underneath the gray paper. Lovely embellishment work too. I understand your dilema about the photo, but I think it has lots of character. Congrats on a stunning piece of work.
I totally agree with your daughter!!! it gives it much character!!! and i am, as you know, a very much photoshop buff!!! it's a GREAT title too! This page is gorgeous!!! I love everything about it and it is a fav for me!!!! Awesome job, Maryanne!!!!
wow, maryanne-this is just beautiful-I know what you mean...sometimes it's hard to decide whether or not to edit the photos and how much. The monochromatic look is awesome and I love the softness of the muslin(have to get my hands on some of that!)definite fave, my dear!!
my there a truly gorgoeus appealling impressive and eyecatching design and look at the very precious foto...very interesting journalling, and such awesome details tfs....xo
This is a photo of my beautiful grandmother Mary McKendry and her firstborn child Charles, taken in 1919. I was torn between photoshopping all these cracks or leaving it as it is. My daughters helped my decision. One of my daughters really liked the cracks and said she would like her layout done untouched, she thinks it added to the charm of the photo. Surprising, as she is the photoshop wiz in our family. She can easily place another photo over the top if she changes her mind. My other two daughters didn't really mind one way or the other. So I decided that I would do one layout at least with the cracks still visible and I will then do the other two layouts with the photo, photoshopped . The original, however, does show a lot more character than this copy.
I was very much inspired by the monochromatic colours of Nkaigle's ( Natalie) layout, Lo and Behold and thought I would try monochrome too. She has the most amazing heritage pages. Doing monochrome was not so easy for me and photographing was even harder .I blamed the weather for days but it really is the camera operator, when I finally got a good day the photo was even worse. Some details are not showing up very well. I liked the softness of the muslin on Natalie's layout as well, so gave that a try too. I used some older Kaisercraft pp's called After Five and some other bits and pieces that have been buried in my stash for too long. The pleated ribbon is Pink Paislee and the pearl strip is unknown. The large flowers are Prima and the smaller ones and the crystal stems are from Green Tara. Pearl swirls are Zva and the clock and birdcage trinkets are from Out There Trinkets.
Thanks so much for taking the time to have peek :)
