My friend asked me to make this for her as a gift for her favorite aunt. Her husband had passed away recently and they always would say that old Roy Rogers/Dale Evans quote “Happy trails to you, until we meet again”. She wanted something showing their farm, capturing their life and using a picture of the husband when he was a young man. The couple is lifted with pop dots and the fence is wood with the gate lifted open. In the upper right hand corner is a dimensional “leather looking” horse shoe inscribed with until we meet again centered over a picture of him when he was younger. Happy Trails to you is printed on vellum and placed as a cloud. I enlarged the picture of their farm and cut it out along the horizon, placing it over “sky” paper. Other elements include the rope on the fence and the old worn dimensional boots. The couple was cut from another picture and lifted. It is double matted, with the outer mat being “cow” print velour over a smaller mat. This picture is very poor of the lo, but I took it for myself before giving it to my friend long before I joined SB. The reflection of the glass distorts it so much that I’m not sure you will be able to tell much about it. Her aunt is now in a nursing home and has it framed. It gives her the chance to talk about her late husband, their life, and farm, when folks come to her room. Thanks for stopping by.
