I made this layout for this month's challenge at Once Upon A Sketch. The theme is "Totally Addicted To..." and without hesitation I chose genealogy as my addiction. The journaling reads "Genealogy is my addition. I started at 22 and never gave up. The key to the past is far too important to me and I will never stop."

I got started in genealogy when my mom saw some of my scrapbooking and decided she wanted to make an album, but she insisted it had to be of our family tree. I told I would go on Ancestry.ca for a month to see if I could fill in some of the holes on our German side. Well, after doing that for two months, I never stopped!! Not only did I fill in the holes, but I discovered so much more! Three years later I am still working on it nearly every day, and I am in correspondence with cousins around the world I never knew existed before now. Most people agree I was, and still am, very young and find it odd that I have such a strong passion for family history, but the way I see it, my grandmother, my parents, and other family members are getting older, and unfortunately, there will be a time when they are no longer with us, and much of those stories and information will go with them. Therefore, I feel its my purpose to piece the story together for my family before its far too late. The best part is, a family tree never ends!

Thanks for looking, and have a great day!
