This is a LO using the Week #1 Sketch for the July 2012 Monthly Sketch Challenge with the twist=use ribbon or fiber (the small bow on the title charms) . The July Colour Challenge using pink, green & brown. The July ABC Challenge: D=Doily (inked upper left corner), E= Embossing (oval on title tag heat embossed) and F=fussy cutting (the large flowers & leaves).

I also did this for the Grans & Friends challenge to scrap and write about my life at 20. BUT I forgot the color scheme was to be red, white & blue. The writing is hidden behind the photo on the left w/tab.

This is actually a photo of me at 22 on my Honeymoon in Arkansas. I like it because I was skinny *sigh* and because it shows my character at the time-Bold, Fun & Strong.

Journaling reads:

I turned 20 on Feb. 10, 1981. I was a sophomore at Bethany Nazarene College in Bethany, OK. Tuition went up that year, from $56 to $65 a credit hour. A 9 hour drive got me home to Roswell, NM in my red Chevy Malibu.

I loved being in college and “on my own.” It was freeing to only have to take care of myself. Something I had never been able to do as the oldest child at home. I was living in Gary Hall on the 3rd floor with, Shari Sanders, my roommate. Our room was always cluttered and messy!

Choosing a major was hard. There were so many things I found interesting. First I tried Journalism and then Computer Science. Finally, I chose Elementary Ed. that year and kept with it until graduation.

It was also the year I met my future husband, Kent, while working on the Yearbook Staff. He was sweet, funny, creative and from a big city-Houston, TX. He wore the dopiest hats!! I would steal them and put them in the trash can. We became great friends. Our romance would blossom and a year later we would be engaged.

I had my whole life unfolding before me and I was confident it would be wonderful and exciting!

TFL!
