Give a Cheer
I wanted this page (which talks about how the Vancouver area is usually one of the first spots in Canada to welcome spring each year, as well as about how much I used to love spending time on my grandparent's deck when I was kid) to be bright and cheerful - like the return of spring itself.
While I wish I'd made it a smidge more dimensional (ok, the flowers - with their tiny brad centers - help there, but the paper components themselves seem a tad flat to me), I do like a lot of the elements here, from the rub-on title to the cute little metal badge (with a pink heart on it).
Moreover, I especially like that I got a chance to journal about the deck (partially seen in this shot of my little brother, my cousin Chelsea, and myself) on my grandparent's old house (complete with awesome balcony – which had the loveliest view of a forest that was just across the street), because I really did enjoy hanging out there when I was growing up (I'm the one in the dress in this photo and think that I was 5 or 6 when it was taken).
