This page – with its thoroughly time faded 1980s photo – features a wee little me perched atop my aunt's lap as we played a game of cards at my maternal grandparents' kitchen table.
The title of this page both ties into the playing card theme of the photo, but also to the fact (as I delve into in the hidden journaling, which is located behind the playing card on the bottom right-hand side) that as the firstborn child, grandchild and (1st degree) niece/cousin, for nearly three years in the 80s, I was the very lucky recipient of a lot of love and attention from my relatives.
I think I relished the role at the time and, as best I can remember those now long distant days, enjoyed being the center of attention (funny though, I grew up to become so shy and introverted, you'd never suspect me of having sported that role for a spell).
The wonderful gold-edged playing cards on this LO come from the line Kanban, so I didn't have to destroy a perfectly good deck to get the page elements I was seeking 
