Give a Cheer
Hello Everyone! Hope you all are having a wonderful day. I would like to introduce you to DH's paternal grandmother, Martha Knudtson, nee Erickson. Martha was born on December 8, 1985 in Eau Claire, WI to Hans Petter Eriksen and Christine Kristiansdatter. Martha married Carl G. Oliver Knudtson on November 19, 1919. Martha was the ninth child of 12. She passed away at the age of 65 on October 6, 1961 from a complication with multiple sclerosis. She passed before my DH was born. She is buried in Chippewa Falls, WI. I know not much more about her than what I have written here. My MIL does not talk too much about her in-laws as, surprisingly, they did not "like" her much because her father was a teacher, a/k/a white-collar worker, and the Knudtsons were blue-collar. It has always amazed me the thought processes of generations, but I suppose those thoughts run still today. My MIL is a wonderful person and I am blessed to have her in my life.
The burgundy background under the photo is velveteen. I thought that color highlighted the b/w oval picture well. The textured paper directly under the photo is handmade paper from this website: http://www.creativepapersonline.com/ (AWESOME SITE!!). The paper flower is from a tut that was shown to me by my wonderful sis, Lauri D and she is the one that made so many different layers using described in the tut found through YT at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=edApDLVUWSw&NR=1&feature=fvwp. Thanks a bunch sweetie! The center to this flower I made by using very thin wire and seed beads. I looped each one and twisted them together. This is the first and only flower I've made using that tut. I like the design and will use it again.
