love what you did with the cardboard and the chain... I was so happy to take my baby to playground that was recently remodeled and they brought back an old fashion merry-go-round
This is an awesome lo. Even more so because of the story behind it. I love all the different techniques. I'm so sorry for the challenges and heartbreak you are going through with your 'friend'. I hope you find scrapping a good release from the stress and hurt.
That is so hard. I know just what you are talking about. The emotion comes through in your lo. It's really great and I hope it's healing for you too. HUGS, Charlotte
Usually we scrap the good/happy times, but I think it takes great courage to scrap the bad/sad times. They are a part of our lives and deserve to be recognized. Keep praying for her, God does care. I'll be adding you to my prayer list. The page is beautiful, all the textures and colors .
I have a friend like that and it's not an easy thing to go through. Keep praying for her cause God does miracles ;) The layout is beautiful and I absolutely love it.
Beautiful work and symbolism! Sad story, tho. I totally understand. I have some family drama of my own. Love that Madonna song! One of my favs! Such a heart felt innovative piece of art!
beautiful lo - just love the glorious colors... and the corrugated cardboard and the b&w photo..that peeling paint carousel looks so lonely and neglected..totally captures the mood of your intent..your story in the descripition brings tears to my eyes. Hope that creating this was cathartic.
girl.. I swear you were talking about ME AND MY SISTER! .. She just went back into a destructive relationship after sort of leaving.. yeah right I knew she wouldn't hold out.. she is very dependent.. and kills me.. and I have to pray for my nephew.. I totally feel this LO. thank you
Love the song (one of my all time favs of Madonna), and this layout! So fantastic with the corrugated cardboard, the beautiful bold colors and the b & w photo! FAV!

What a kewl layout!!!!!!!!! and yes.... I have had someone like that in my life and i had to let go.... hurt like the dickens.... but the rollercoaster ride was too much for me to handle and I chose to get off.
Yes,,,,,,,,,,,,,, I do understand what you're saying! Life is so hard sometimes & we wish we could help people out but if they don't want help, what can you do? Anyway...................... this is FABULOUS work Misty!!!!! Love the photo, the title & the entire design!!!!
misty your story touches me... my brother is the same way - we had a great childhood together but now... too much has happened - i feel your pain
love your LO :) sending love <3
Such a topic close to the heart always produces amazing and inspirational work! Fabulous photo and page! Love the reference to the Madonna song and how you set up the title! FAVE!
Thsi is so deep!! I love the capture you got from the photo showing the emptiness. All the grunge work, and title really shows emotion!!! Sorry for your pain, but this lo is stunning, IMO. fave
I love all the textures on this beautiful work of art...so sad to watch someone you love self destruct. Makes you just wanna slap em upside the head and tell them to grow up!!!
That's such a sad and heartbreaking story. It must be really difficult for you to take a bit of distance, but I'm sure you took the right decision. Your layout is a wonderful way to tell this story. It turned out amazing.
how heartbreaking that must be...sometimes we have to step back from people and let them get through things on their own, but it's hard! Your Lo symbolizes this so well and is so powerful...beautiful textures, colours and techniques, and the photo is perfect! Thanks for sharing, and hope she's able to work thing out.fave
This was a recipe challenge to use: staples red teal 3 circles stitching and a photo without a person in it
Do any of you have that person in your life that you have so many hopes and dreams for, but they seem to let you down constantly because of their self -destructive personalities? I have a childhood friend that breaks my heart because she seems to make the same mistakes over and over...and its gotten to the point that I have had keep my distance because I can no longer worry about her (I'm not being judgemental at all when saying this...there have been actual legal issues in relation to her bad choices). I pray for her daily and so wish that we could be as close as we were when we were young, but I can't stand to witness her destroying her life anymore!
This layout symbolizes how much I wish we could just be close again...but am afraid that our childhood friendship may never be as close now that we are adults...and it makes me sad!
Confession: my "friend" is actually my sister but I couldn't put that on my blog because I wouldn't want to make things any worse!
Thanks for looking! I appreciate all of your support!
