This is so pretty!! I love how you used the space on the layout!! I'm glimmer mist challenged.. so I've never ended up with a layout that didn't go in the garbage, so I stopped trying. I love that you got your so smooth.. I could never stop all the blotches.. and I hated it when it did that. I have a few bottles.. thinking I could do it, I bought some, one is half empty.. lol and I have no layout to show you that I've done with it!! lol To me yours is awesome!!
Delores, this LO is LOVELY!!! CONGRATS on using a new medium! I totally understand your frustration with any misting type paint! My experience is this: 1) Try wetting the BACK side of the paper you are going to mist.... I use a small spray bottle from my craft store that is filled with water. Then, spray mist onto the FRONT side. 2.) Try glueing the paper to a piece of chipboard....either before or after misting. 3.) Hold your bottle a little farther back to achieve a more random effect....which is a GOOD thing! 4.) Be sure to test the bottle on old newspaper or something like that before spraying onto SB paper. If it is clogged up, you can use a long, straight piece of wire or a pick (smaller than an ice pick) to free the clog.....just push it up through the part that is inside the bottle of mist. 5.) I use a magnetic board to avoid excessive initial warping. You can place the magnets somewhere on the paper where the their negative shadow will not be seen in the finished product.
Good luck in your experimentation with mists.....they really do add BEAUTY and shimmer to whatever you are creating. Hope you don't give up on them!!! Hugs....Patty
Gosh, this is just LOVELY!!! Beautiful pops of colour on this white bg...and yep, misting is sometimes frustrating...ha ha! I have no answers or secrets about misting techniques, that's for sure :) LOVE the flowers on the white doily and the ruffled edges are beautiful! FAVE!
This is so pretty! I love what you have done here! Love that crocheted piece. And yep glimmer mist is a fun adventure! LOL! Love the ruffle distressed look you gave to the edges.
What a wonderful photo of your parents!!! This LO is just STUNNING! Your attempt at misting came out great!!! I have the same trouble and I think it comes from spraying too closely. Not sure, cuz I haven't figured it out yet myself - lol I'm so loving those hand made doilies, the DA locks fantastic and so is your design work. Just loving it!!!
a sweet pic of your parents and a LOVELY LOVELY lo. Everything about this lo is MARVELOUS - from the wonderful design to the homemade doilies (wish I could crochet) - LOVE it all. (misting is a mystery to me too - never goes where I want it to either - your misting looks great.)
Quite stunning! I stopped using the mist 'cause it warps my pp & it's hard to work it, my opinion. Looks gorgeous on everyone else' lo but mine, lol! Perfect addition of these Prima pieces! Love it! FAVE
Love how the design seems to pop off the page. Beautiful colors. You are going to get paper warp when you mist, BUT, I use a heat gun to help flatten it out and then I use my magnetic board. That helps out quite a bit.
just gorgeous I get the same problem but was told to try using Gesso before spraying I got some for Xmass but have not tried it yet..... but your page is just heavenly x
This is so wonderful! I'd love to know how to flatten it too! I used some recently and it ruined an expensive piece of paper! I do love the edges, how did you get it to look scalloped? So many unique products but no clue how to use them!
So so pretty! Great job! I don't know much.. I have asked this same question also... I have been told if you use a heating tool to dry the paper, it might not warp so badly. Use good card stock, and tape! It doesn't matter... this is beautiful... don't worry! Great work! Love it!
Very beautiful page, love the design and the sweet embellishments, and the misting is just wonderful!!! (although it has a way of going where it wants to sometimes! but that is part of the fun!)
oh my oh my...stunning luv your very precious fotos and such awesome detailing the seat and lil birdhouse are perfect..great job with the misting...fave for sure....
Love this! The flowers with the doilies are so beautiful! The bench is so perfect for this lo! Such a beautiful picture! Once your paper has been wet with glimmer mist it's going to curl! I'm sure you glued it to cardstock...that's all I know (which is very little!) fav!
This lo is of my parents..showing off all the hanging plants! I have done a lo that I have never done before..but admired the ones I had seen! What I'd like to know is ...how do you get the paper to flatten after using glimmer mist??? I used TONS of tape!! And the mist does not necessarily go where you want it to!! Anyways..here is my attempt!! I used a floral vine and a pin from Angelicas Etsy shop; a few prima small roses and a couple homemade doilies; DA corners and some shabby chic resin!
