The deserted Roman city of Palmyra (present day Tadmur) in Syria. I was really anxious to get there before sunrise since our guide book told us the rocks changed colors as the sun rose, and it did! The structures turned bright orange (hence the orange colored layout) with the sunrise. This is most noticeable in the pictures of the other two layouts.
