Very innovative design and such a lovely gift for your aunt! Love the sentiment that your Grandma used to say - how neat! Plus the fact that you made a pretty flower yourself makes this gift even more special for her! Beautiful work!
Your home made flower is so pretty! I'm going to follow in your footsteps and make my own flowers - I'll save some $$! The butterfly with the key body reminds me of the first Harry Potter movie where the keys are flying all around! Awesome work!
ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS!!!! I love this beautiful design and all those wonderful embellishments. That flower and lace just pop!!! Love the key and butterflies as well. Honestly, I just love it all...
Oh for the love GF, I can't believe I missed this!! WOW, I mean really WOW! This is gorgeous & I love your soft pastel colors & of course all the different embossing folders you used. Your beautiful flower is such a focal point & I love all your embellies you placed so perfectly. Great verse & your aunt will treasure this gift that you created from your hear. Sorry, I need to say it again....WOW!!!!!:)
This is absolutely beautiful! Love every bit of it. I agree with others, the embossing technique you used here is incredibly brilliant:). This flower is just stunning and a perfect focal point. She'll treasure this forever!
I love your embossing folder techniques and the patchwork cutting of your embossed papers is genius. This is soooo gorgeous. I love the spray shine on each piece. Your keys and butterflies are a great addition. And the beautiful pink flower (my favorite of your flowers) is the final beautiful touch on this canvas. Simply wonderful work.
A beauty for sure! Love the embells you used, colors, textures and gorgeous handmade flower is exquisite! It looks like intricate pieces of inlaid tile. She'll love it!
A real tapestry of texture and color Elizabeth! It is so beautiful, I know your aunt will love this~ Thanks for sharing all the steps you took on how this was created! That is always so helpful and insightful. Gorgeous texture and color~
I have been wanting to make a canvas for my aunt's birthday for some time and had several different types in mind when I finally decided to use one of Marylou's (Meggie's Nana) canvases for inspiration.
The verse on my canvas is one that my aunt told me that Grandma used to say. I thought it was so clever I decided to surprise her with it on this canvas.
So, first, I gathered several of my embossing folders together, inked one side of each one, used white cardstock and ran it through my Big Shot. After I cut them to various sizes I rubbed Tsukineko Brilliance Starlite Silver over the raised edges. I then inked the edges of all of them with TH Black Soot so they would stand out a bit. I glued each piece down with Mod Podge Matte finish. Then I sprayed Perfect Pearls mist in Biscotti to give it a bit of a sheen.
The fun part was choosing the embellies! I knew I wanted to use my favorite handmade flower on it. I also chose a Creative Embellishments Flourish 17 chippie that I dabbed with Folk Art Pearl Aqua Moire paint using a paper towel. Then I dabbed a little Adirondack Pearl on it.
The lace for the flower and center are from Gone Artsy as well as the resin clock. The silver lace appliques as well as the white applique at the top right are from Melissa (Scraphouse). Thank you Melissa! The pink pearls are from Pamela Wright. The little keys are Fairy Tale from Hobby Lobby. The large key is Spare Parts also from HL. The green flourish under the flower I cut with my Cricut ages ago.
Embossing folders used:
Darice - Argyle, Clock background, Damask, and Bold Floral Paper Studio - Curl Ribbon, Mum Flowers, Intricate Swirl, and Quatrefoil
Thank you so much for stopping by my gallery. I appreciate your kind remarks and votes tremendously.
I also used butterflies that I diecut with my Big Shot. Sprayed them with a little Biscotti Perfect Pearls also.
