I can't tell you how good it felt to make a new layout! They are my absolute favorite form of papercrafting and give me such satisfaction and joy to make. This is my first layout of the year and the first one I've made since last July. I thought it had only been a few months since I'd made one but boy was I wrong!! Anyway, this is my great-uncle TJ, my grandma's youngest brother. He was my favorite of all grandma's brothers (although I loved all of them) and I loved him so much. My brother sent me this copy of a picture postcard that he had written to grandma. I was thrilled to get it! As it reads on the postcard, he was standing on the top of the Empire State Building in New York City (the tallest building in the world at that time), in July 1942.

For this layout I used Stamperia's Blues collection. I fussy cut the note cards and "envelope", then used my postage stamp die from Amazon to cut out a frame in the envelope for the picture. I wrapped jute around it to match the note cards. The little buttons I used on the "twine" were from the antique store. The gold buttons were from my mom's tin and who knows how they are! I did a little stamping of postmarks on the envelope and upper left corner of the layout. Added some drywall tape here and there. The little clock charm was from Aliexpress. The metal rings (top right) from my stash and I can't remember where I got those! The metal key at the top was given to me and I wrote the initials "J.B." on the back so I would remember who gave it to me! Unfortunately, I can't remember who that is and I feel terrible about it. Been racking my brain trying to remember! The little printed clocks I got from Pinterest.

I think I will enter this in the Heritage layout challenge.

Thank you so much for visiting my gallery and all your wonderful feedback means the world to me!
