Before our local craft store closed I bought several trims that were wrapped on wooden spools and I just couldn't throw them away after emptying them. I looked up altered spools on Pinterest and found a lot of them! So, after painting the whole spool with Gesso, I glued glitter around the edges of the spool, added a piece of Prima's Tales of You and Me paper, then decorated it all up with trim, roses from Wild Orchid Crafts and a feather. I added a flower I made to put on the top of the spool as well as a removable stick pin. I've added a close-up of the flower I made in the second photo. The beautiful rosette is from Marylou, the fine netting between the pink lace and doily was from Laura, the doily and finely crocheted lace from the antique mall and the white lace applique is leftover from my wedding dress fabric! I love how that flower turned out!

Thank you so much for visiting my gallery.
